‘New Dawn’ Hanwell’s first ever wine launched

Hanwell Wine Estate’s first ever wine, 4th March 2018

Made by international award winning winemaker Tony Skuriat. A dry white wine made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. A long delicious zesty citrus fruit flavour with a mellow finish. Made with grapes grown in South Nottinghamshire, made into wine in South Nottinghamshire, a true local wine.

This wine’s story

Having grown up at Eglantine Vineyard, Notts, Helenka planted Hanwell Wine Estate in 2012 with the Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The first grapes were hand-picked by friends and family in October 2015, then transported to Eglantine Vineyard the same day to begin the wine making process.

Made by international award winning winemaker Tony Skuriat of Eglantine Vineyard, ‘New Dawn’ is a dry white wine made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. A long delicious zesty citrus fruit flavour with a mellow finish.  This special blend is a combination of wines from all 3 grape varieties from the 2015 and 2016 vintages.

“Who knew that the Hickling Pastures ‘terroir’ would produce such a delicious wine?!” said Helenka Brown, 2nd generation Nottinghamshire viticulturist and owner at Hanwell Wine Estate.

The wine is available only from the vineyard directly, either online or from the vineyard cellar door, for £12.50.
