Something for everyone during May at Hanwell Wine Estate

Whether you’re a wine lover, a bird watcher or a child who loves creepy-crawlies, there will be something for everyone at Hanwell Wine Estate this spring.

Over the May Day bank holiday weekend there will be a guided Dawn Chorus bird-walk at 6am on Sunday May 3rd for those who enjoy an early morning roam across the fields identifying morning bird calls and bird songs. Then at 10am on Bank Holiday Monday May 4th children are invited to look for insects under the leaves and stones of the vineyard and to examine their findings under a microscope at the Bug Safari. Both events will be hosted by the vineyard’s resident wildlife expert, Andrew Whitelee from Verdant Wildlife.

Later in the month, Saturday May 23rd at 10am will see the vineyard gates open to everyone to mark the start of English Wine Week. The event offers the opportunity to experience the vineyard first-hand, to sample some delicious Nottinghamshire wines, to hear about wine-making in England and to learn about the sparkling wine which will be produced by this exciting new vineyard in Rushcliffe.
