Set amongst the rolling countryside of South Nottinghamshire, the vines of Hanwell Wine Estate are being hand-tended to grow grapes for English Sparkling Wine.

Immerse yourself in vineyard life with a guided tour, talk & wine tasting.

This tour, talk and tasting vineyard experience comprises a tea, coffee or glass of Nottinghamshire wine upon arrival, an introduction to Hanwell Wine Estate, a guided tour of our beautiful vineyard & a tutored wine tasting to include 6 local wines.

Talk and Tour | We’ll walk you through the vines sharing the vineyard story, what we grow, how we manage it and our future plans, all in a relaxed and friendly style.

Wine Tasting | You will be invited to taste local wines from the East Midlands, including those from the award winning Eglantine Vineyard, Nottinghamshire our parent vineyard and Hanwells’ first wines.   If you’d rather spend more time wine tasting and less in the vineyard, then we recommend joining a Friday evening tour.

What our customers say…

Hi Hanwell, we bought a tour for my parents for Christmas. They went yesterday and had a wonderful time. They found it interesting, fun and of course enjoyed the wines. In mums words “a lovely way to spend the afternoon. It was like being abroad” they will definitely be back to stock up again. Heather Roythorne, July 2018 via Facebook

Just want to thank you for a fabulous vineyard experience, what a wonderful day we had yesterday and we have recommended it to our friends and family already! Loved to hear the stories of your family and how the vineyard has evolved. We will be looking out for your wine in the future and wish you and your family the success it deserves. Thank you again Kind regards Anna and Simon Ritchie, July 2018 by email

A perfect way to spend an afternoon! William & Helenka are so inviting and friendly as well as clearly very passionate about what they do. I can not recommend a visit enough. Wether you are a wine enthusiast or just enjoy a good tipple. The talk and tour are pitched at a level that is informative but relaxed and enjoyable. Not to forget the great selection of local wines you get to sample. Ranging from dry to dessert wines, with the opportunity to purchase them at the end of your trip. I also love the fact that Helenka & William are incorporating “arts, crafts & natural skills” workshops into what they offer. It is such a beautiful spot to enjoy the outdoors, get in touch with nature and with your creative side at the same time. Wishing you every success for the future and hope to see you again soon. – Gemma B September 2017 via TripAdvisor

Can I thank you Helenka and Will most sincerely for the thoroughly enjoyable and informative visit we made to your estate today.  Everyone expressed surprise and delight at the work you have done on the estate and on the way you enlightened us about vine growing and wine making.  Thank you also for the informative wine tasting and the excellent buffet you provided.  The whole visit was enjoyed by everyone.  We were all impressed by the efforts you have made already and wish you every success in the future. – Peter, U3A, August 2017 by email

Way back towards the end of 2016 we booked for the Vineyard Experience. It was certainly well worth the wait. With weather suitable for the south of France the vines looked splendid. Our host, Helenka gave us a superb and extremely interesting insight into local wine making and their experiences in developing their business. We allowed to wonder through the vines in our own time. This was followed by the tutored wine tasting which was both entertaining and very educational. We actually sampled TEN different wines. And all for a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys wines. – Barry T, September 2017 via TripAdvisor

This is the only vineyard tour available in the Melton area, as far as I know, and Helenka does a fantastic job at hosting. Their own wines aren’t ready yet but won’t be too log to wait now; the wines tasted are from other local vineyards such as her dad’s. Very generous and entertaining tasting session – great to see a vineyard tasting that hasn’t been commercialised. Lots of people seemed to have had the tasting as a gift, which is a great idea. I hope Helenka and her family continue onwards and upwards with this venture and their other Rural Antics offerings. Highly recommended. – Graa, July 2017 via TripAdvisor
