“Thank you so much for running the course, it was so interesting and on the Sunday I had the courage to cut back my two vines.
What made it so interesting was the passion you have not only for the growing of the vines, but your heritage with vineyards and the way you speak of your dad – it was lovely to see and hear.
Keep up the good work and will hopefully visit you again soon.” – Lynn Webster
Second generation vineyard owner, Helenka was brought up at her parent vineyard in Nottinghamshire. Her parents, Tony and Veronica Skuriat, owners of the international award-winning Eglantine Vineyard, inspired her to embark on her own journey.
Training in Wines of Great Britain ‘WineSkills’ and WSET, her experience and knowledge grew when she set up her own vineyard in Hickling Pastures in 2012 with her husband Will Brown. Helenka is an exceptional woman balancing a job, family and growing grapes to produce English Sparkling Wine!
With the first harvest completed in October 2015, the grapes once picked were taken to Eglantine Vineyard to be made into wine and bottled by her father. As each year passes the vines are flourishing and becoming more and more fruitful and the first bottles of their English Sparking wine is set to be released early 2018.
