Spend the afternoon learning the technique known as faux calligraphy and paint you own beautiful lettering onto your tote bag. Relax in our craft barn and be inspired by the beautiful surrounding views of Nottinghamshire’s rolling countryside. Guided by our exceptionally talented tutor Nikki Whiston, you will begin with a lesson on faux calligraphy writing, using your paint pen on paper to practice the technique and wording. Once comfortable with lettering, you move onto your bag. Using chalk, you will make a transfer guide onto the material to get you started. Then using your new technique and template to paint your wordings onto the bag using a paint pen.

This workshop is perfect for all levels of ability, no experience needed. Children age 10+ welcome with a paying adult.
All materials, tools and light refreshments are included in the workshop price so, you don’t need to bring anything, just yourself. You will leave the workshop with your white chalk pen so you can continue painting at home also your hand-painted tote bag ready to use or give as a gift.

Please note – All materials are included in the workshop price, however additional calligraphy supplies are available to purchase directly from Nikki at the end of the workshop.
About Nikki Whiston
An accomplished Calligraphy artist, Nikki works with a variety of lettering styles working with ink, brushes, paint pens and nibs. Her preference is to work by hand rather than digitally to ensure a more nature, fluid look.
Running regular workshops she also specialises in hand painted signage, wedding stationery, greeting card design and window art.
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, group size will be limited to 14.
