Bentwood Chair-making Workshop | Saturday 7th  & Sunday 8th November 2020  10am – 4pm

One of our most popular workshops we host here at Hanwell Wine Estate, John Hollins our exceptionally talented tutor will guide you through step by step to make your own beautiful bentwood chair in this two-day workshop. Introducing you to the tools and techniques required for this traditional woodcraft, you will work alongside a small group while John demonstrates how to hand-craft hazel, bend and cut it to form a stunning garden seat.

All materials will be provided and the workshop includes a two-course homemade lunch served with local wine. At the end of the two days you will have created your own bentwood chair to take home with you. Alternatively, we can arrange to deliver your chair locally if transport is a problem.

“It’s amazing that in two days people can learn how to make a chair from hazel rods. The bentwood chair making workshop is a good introduction to rustic woodcraft and it’s always a sociable two days with a fantastic atmosphere.”
John Hollis.
