Wool Weaving Workshop 10am to 4pm, Friday 31st August 2018
This 1-day workshop led by retired teacher Veronica Skuriat will take you through material choice, demonstrate a variety of looms and guide you step by step to create your first woven item.
The workshop is a sociable introduction to weaving and includes a homemade 2-course lunch served with local wine. All necessary materials for the day will be provided, so just bring yourself!
Veronica will demonstrate, explaining the techniques you need for your first project, working with your selected material. As you weave, Veronica will be there to guide you step by step and offer advice on an individual basis. Can you imagine a more perfect way to spend a day – learning something new in the beautiful rural setting of Hanwell Wine Estate?
10am Welcome drink and meet your tutor Veronica, Introduction to tools and materials. Examples of wonderful projects and techniques you can explore in the future. Personal planning, colour selection, size and shape.
12:30pm 2-course homemade lunch with local wine.
1:30pm Hands on: working with a simple loom.
3:00pm Tea break
3:45pm Review end result and wrap up
4:00pm Departure with your creation in hand
