Here at Hanwell Wine Estate, we love hosting Rural Antics workshops!
They enable us to open up the wonderful countryside setting of our vineyard to you, giving us all the opportunity to get closer to nature.
Hand-making great wine is a real craft and Rural Antics provides a space for us to involve interested people in our wine-making, alongside other artisan past times, such as chair weaving, foraging and painting.

The theme for this four-hour beginner’s workshop is ‘Stepping into the Green’. You will take a stroll through the vineyard estate, seeking inspiration in nature. Local artist Sara Penrose will guide you step-by-step: by demonstrating & explaining the tools & materials, composition & various techniques for creating your very own landscape painting. Louise will work alongside you, explaining basic drawing skills and showing you how to use pencils to bring to life the detail and colours of the English countryside.
