Come along to our grape harvest, a few days in October each year
Our grape harvest usually takes place in October and it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to involve the local community, old and young alike. We welcome volunteers to help us pick grapes and enjoy a lovely day in the great outdoors, volunteers are encouraged to spend one of the harvest days with us ending with a home-made harvest supper.
The dates for the harvest can’t be fixed in advance, it depends on the weather throughout the summer. The grapes must be ripe and the harvest days must be dry, as we can’t harvest in the rain. If you’d like to join us, keep an eye on our Facebook page or enter your email address below and we’ll let you know as soon as we’ve selected the perfect dates.
Snips and gloves are provided, but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer. A warm coat, along with sturdy shoes or boots are recommended – the vineyard can be very windy, the fields can be muddy and the grass is long in patches.
All are welcome, but the uneven ground around the vines unfortunately makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.Children are welcome to pick the grapes if they can safely use scissors and after an hour or so we’ll be running a crèche at the house for those who would prefer to play indoors.
We look forward to welcoming you to our vineyard – fingers crossed for a sunny harvest.
